ELS to the rescue!

Oooh, interessant, ELS!

‘Printed instructions can never replace the personal ministrations of a competent teacher; nor is it possible, in a short book, to indicate exactly how much stress should be laid on any given technique in any given case of visual mal-functioning. Every individual has his or her particular problems. Equipped with adequate knowledge, any individual can discover the solution of those problems. But (espescially in difficult cases) a gifted and experienced teacher will certainly make the discovery much more expeditiously, and be able to apply his knowledge much more effectively, than the sufferer can do for himself.’
